Group Swim Lessons by A&B
A&B offers group swim lessons for children in our clients’ neighborhoods through a 7-level program focused on building essential swimming skills for safety and enjoyment. The program is designed to help swimmers progress from beginner to advanced levels, with the opportunity to develop competitive skills and enjoy swimming as a lifelong, healthy activity.

Use the link below to register through the Parent Portal. Once logged in, you can select your home pool and sign up for your preferred session. Be sure to filter by location to find classes at your pool.
Program Details:
Lesson Structure:
- Time: Each session consists of four 25-minute classes held Monday through Thursday during one week.
- Cost: $48 per session
- Minimum Enrollment: 3 children per class
Skill Levels:
- Levels 1 & 2: For children under 5, focusing on water safety and basic skills
- Levels 3 & 4: For children over 5 with similar goals
- Levels 5 and above: For swimmers who have completed Levels 1–4 and want to work on stroke technique and improvement

- Session 3: June 16 – June 19
- Session 4: June 23 – June 26
- Session 5: July 7 – July 10
- Session 6: July 14 – July 17
- Session 7: July 21 – July 24
- Session 8: July 28 – July 31
Private & Semi-Private Lessons:
- Available if you already know your instructor
- Semi-private lessons must be for children within the same family
Youth Lesson Level 1 – New to the Pool
Pre-requisites
- Age 3-5
- New to no parent in pool
- New to group setting
- Comfortable with parent nearby
- Not afraid of the water

Youth Lesson Level 3 – Water Acclimation
Pre-requisites
- 5 years old
- Ready to listen and learn in a group setting
Goals

- Confident in the water
- Jump from side, assisted
Practice Skills
- Change direction while walking
- Get in water up to neck
- Submerge ears
- Blow bubbles with nose
- Face in water
- Standing elementary backstroke movements
Safety
- Ask permission to get in
- Enter/exit the pool with ladder, wall

Deep Water Acclimation
- Leave steps/wall with instructor

Youth Lesson Level 4 – Preliminary Stroke Work
Pre-requisites
- 5 years old
- Ready to listen and learn in a group setting

- 10+ bobs

- Chin tuck
- Pick up rings from bottom/step while submerged

Deep Water Acclimation

Youth Lesson Level 5 – Freestyle and Backstroke 1 and 2
Pre-requisites
- 5 years old
- Ready to listen and learn in a group setting
Goals – 1
- Freestyle with bilateral breathing
- Backstroke, 15 yards
- Surface dive to bottom, retrieve ring
Practice Skills – 1
- Surface dives
- Swim, roll-over, breath, roll-over
- Wall push-offs, front and back
- Big arms
Goals – 2
- Freestyle with bilateral breathing, 25 yards
- Backstroke, up to 50 yards
- Somersaults on land and water

Deep Water Acclimation
- Jump in, touch bottom with feet

Youth Lesson Level 6 – Breaststroke and Butterfly
Pre-requisites
- Level 5
Goals
- breaststroke 10-15 yards

Practice Skills
- Sculling
- Breaststroke kick with kickboard
- Breaststroke arms
- Putting it together – pull, breathe, kick, glide (timing)
- Dolphin dives
- Dolphin kick, front and back
- Intro to fins
- 2-hand touch on walls
- butterfly arms
- butterfly breathing and timing
Safety
- 25 free/back fully clothed, remove excess clothing while treading water
- jump in, surface, treat water 90 seconds
- tread water no hands, 30 seconds
Youth Lesson Level 7 – Endurance and Pre-competition
Pre-requisites
- Levels 5, 6
Goals
- 50 free, 50 back, 25 breast, 25 fly (all without stopping, legal strokes)
